Well, I leave on August 31st and I couldn't be more excited. I'm counting down the days. (LITERALLY! I have a countdown on my phone). I'm going through a program called Academic Programs International. I found the program after going into the study abroad office at school and asking for information they had on study abroad programs in Italy. I looked for classes that would transfer back to Western and VOILA! I found a program. I'll be studying at Scuola Lorenzo de' Medici and I'll be taking 5 classes which are...
- Graphic Design: Advanced Projects Development
- Web Design
- Art History
- Digital Photography
- Italian
I'll be living in an apartment right next to the river...looks beautiful! I think I'll be living in an 8 person apartment, but I'm not sure yet...the list was kind of confusing. I know I'll have one roommate, but I'm not sure if the building has all 8 of us living in it, or if it's just the apartment and has 4 bedrooms....I'll find out soon though!
I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed by all of the things I have to pack...or rather refrain from packing. Such as shoes. SHOES SHOES SHOES. Man oh man I love shoes. And purses and clothes and all of that...but mostly shoes. how am I going to limit myself?? who knew life could be so hard? haha
On a more serious note, in all of the paperwork I have received from my program, there have been parts that have mentioned that I should write down goals that I have for myself for when I study abroad. So, I've been thinking a lot about those goals....is it sad that I can only think of a few? Eh oh well... here they are:
1.) Experience new things
2.) Learn new things
And last, but actually the most important one...
3.) Have fun.
What other goals could I have? I mean let's be realistic here. I'm not going to put on my goal list "save the world," because yes, that is quite an ambitious goal, and it's not realistic. Those three goals are goals that are imaginable and definitely within my reach.
So now considering it's 1:30 AM at home...I should probably head off to bed so I can DREAM about being in Italy....as if i didn't think about it enough! HAH!
So awesome Lauren. I'm looking forward to checkin in on you. I'm so happy you have this opportunity. You're going to trive like crazy. Enjoy!
