The summer before senior year of high school, I did a program at the school of the art institute of chicago...it was really an amazing experience and I recommend it to ANYONE who is a high schooler interested in art of some sort. That summer I met this one guy who was super nice and definitely not straight. We really got along, but once I got home, I had no contact with him. He didn't have a facebook or a myspace or anything, so we lost contact....
Today I walked into my digital photography class and holy smokes guess who was sitting there!? The friend from the art institute!! It was crazy!!
And a couple nights ago, when I went to the discotheque, I bumped into someone who was in my graduation class from high school!!
It's so much fun to bump into random old friends!!
Anyway, digital photography was kind of a drag today.... my teacher didn't want to do too much with us because he thought that some people might not stay in the class or other people would come in next week....so in a few words: it was boring. FIVE HOURS of boring, boring, class.
One of my friends from my program has that class with me so today her and I went out to lunch at Za-Za's....It was a restaurant which I think I ate at a few years ago with my mom, david, and jeremy...it seemed familiar...
There was a cute old guy who was coming into the restaurant so I asked him if I could take his picture. He said okay and he sat down and talked with us for a really long time.... He then pulled a framed picture of the mona lisa out of his pocket and gave it to me as a present... lol. kind of an interesting guy.... I can't get over how friendly the locals are here!!
Here is a picture I took of the friendly man....

After digital photography, I signed up for a club... The choices of clubs were the music club, soccer club, basketball club, photography club, film club, slow drinkers club, yoga club, and dance club....
I really wanted to do the photography club and the music club, but I could only pick one. Everyone who joins the music club gets a free membership to a local jazz and rock club close by and the club meetings are going to be just going to the jazz and rock club every tuesday night.... I chose that one because I think it would be a good way to meet more local people and interact with italian culture... It should be really fun! I have friends that joined that club with me too!!
In the really long line to sign up for clubs, I met a jewish art major from New York who seems really cool. We were talking and then I noticed he was jewish by his chai necklace. He said that he would want to go to yom kippur services with me here! After the club sign ups, I went to a cafe with the guy and since he is gay, it was really fun to pick out the hot guys on the street together! hahaha
This evening from 6-8:30 I had web design. Because I hadn't taken an official web design class before, I was put in Web Design I. My professor told me after class that I really needed to be moved up to Web Design II and I should've never been put in Web Design I. She said it was very clear how much more advanced I was and how much more experience I had. She told me that if I stayed in the Web Design I then I wouldn't learn anything, so there wouldn't be like any point to take it....to give you an idea, we were learning how to save photoshop files and resize them...My professor looked at my schedule and told me that I was enrolled in the most advanced and most challenging graphic design course, so that also made it really obvious how advanced I am....It's cool that she noticed that and she noticed that the class was really easy for me and she said that she would e-mail the head of the graphic design department and tell him that I needed to be switched. Tomorrow I have to go talk to him and I'll also go talk to my advisor and get that class switched....
Tonight, the school, Lorenzo de' Medici, gave us all a welcoming dinner. It was right on the Arno river and it was gorgeous. Unfortunately the meal wasn't too great....it was bread with a bunch of different meat spreads (chopped liver, ham, turkey, etc.)....so I had bread and tomatoes... I wasn't too hungry though, so it was okay. It was nice to enjoy the environment though and just the whole experience...
Tomorrow I have my Italian class, and almost everyone who had Italian today said that their professor was super hot....sooo if my professor is good looking then I'm not complaining and hello eye candy!! :)
Ciao!
