Today, the only class I had was Art History....it is a really basic intro to art history course, but I have to take it for my major... there are really only 3 classes held in the classroom....all of the others are held in galleries and museums...
Ah, this is so strange to have most of my classes meet only once a week....
So today I talked to the head of the graphic design program and right when I walked in the door he said "oh hello, Lauren." I had never met him before!! I said hello and then he told me that he has heard about me...so of course I'm thinking in my head "uh oh...it's the first week already and they are already talking about me...yikes!" but then he continued to tell me that he had talked to my web design I teacher and she told him how I really needed to be switched to a higher level. He also talked to my advisor and she said the same thing. He told me that it was obvious how much experience I had and he was happy that I was in the program. He said that I have a couple of choices since Web Design II isn't offered this semester....
1- take flash for the web
2- take 3D design
I told him that I know flash, but I could definitely brush up on it, and learn a lot more, so that class would be my first choice. The 3D design sounds interesting since I have never taken a 3D design course before....I have to talk to my advisor tomorrow and we'll see what happens...
I also found out today that since my friday class has become an independent study, the hours can be very flexible. I can choose different times to meet with the professor, I can meet the professor at a coffee shop or an art studio instead of a the classroom, etc. So yayyy I won't have friday classes! (Out of EVERYONE who I have met, I am the ONLY one who has class on fridays...)
I finally got internet at my apartment today!!! It is so nice having it...I never realized how dependent I am on internet...it's almost sad....
All of my roommates and I were sitting around the living room on our computers and all of a sudden we heard loud music and lots of cheering. My roommate said "Oh wow, it sounds like a parade!!" So we looked outside and it was a parade! it was a gay pride parade on the ponte vecchio.... On one side of the bridge was the gay pride flag and on the other was a sign saying "no homophobes and no transphobes" there was also a gondola that was traveling from one bridge to the other with a whole band playing music... here are some pictures because pictures really are worth 1000 words....
Gay Pride flag on the Ponte Vecchio and the gondola and band...The other bridge....
And just because I'm in a picture kind of mood here are a couple more pictures from today...
On the way home, the Ponte Vecchio was PACKED with people....I haven't seen it this busy since I've been here!!Goodness gracious, Florence is one beautiful city!

I just thought this was really funny....It is a car, literally made for only one person....there was just one seat in it and it's an actual car. There are license plates on it and everything!! I just thought it was funny, I had to take a picture, and the driver waived to my camera.... Can you imagine if we had one person cars in the states??? hahahaha....
